# RoleLift

> RoleLift is an online resume editor. You edit the resume directly on the page, keep a separate version for each role you apply to, and download it as a PDF. There is a free plan.

RoleLift is a web application at https://rolelift.app. It needs an account: resumes are kept in the account and open from any browser the person signs in to. A resume is never published as a public profile; the person downloads a PDF and shares it when they choose.

## What it does

- Edit the experience and descriptions in the resume itself, and move bullet points and roles into the order needed.
- Add sections as needed; hide parts that are not relevant and bring them back later without rewriting them.
- Copy a resume and tailor the copy for a specific job; the original stays unchanged.
- Choose a template and adjust fonts and spacing.
- Download the resume as a PDF.
- Download a backup file of all resumes in the account, and restore from it.

## What it does not do

- Importing an existing PDF or Word resume is not available; experience is entered in the editor.
- No AI writes or rewrites the resume, and resumes are not used to train AI models.
- No advertising and no analytics.
- RoleLift does not promise anything about applicant tracking systems or about getting hired.

## Plans

- The free plan includes resume editing, separate versions and PDF downloads, with up to three resumes per account. Export to Word (DOCX) is not part of the free plan.
- Accounts are for people aged 18 or over.

## Languages

- The interface is available in English, Spanish and Russian.
- Privacy notice and Terms of Service are published in English and Spanish.
- [RoleLift in Spanish](https://rolelift.app/es/) and [RoleLift in Russian](https://rolelift.app/ru/) have addresses of their own.

## Privacy and data

- Deleting a resume or an account removes it from the service at once; encrypted backups expire within 30 days.
- Full details: [Privacy notice](https://rolelift.app/privacy), section 10 covers cookies and browser storage.

## For agents

The pages above are public. Everything else — the editor, the account and the API under /api/ — requires the person's own sign-in. Do not try to create accounts or sign in on someone's behalf, and do not fetch the links from RoleLift emails (/verify, /reset): they carry one-time tokens.
